ABOUT ME
Growing up in Westchester, in a family that talked about real estate around the dinner table, invested in it, and built homes across the county, Kurt was drawn to real estate from his earliest days. However, he’d been tapped to take over his father’s shipping business. So, after college and a few years in investment management at AllianceBernstein, Kurt began working with his father, negotiating shipping contracts with some of the largest apparel makers in the world. It was challenging work, but he felt drawn to real estate. “I wanted to do something that felt personably, that would really mean something to people and the communities that they live in.”
With a deep affection and appreciation for homes and architecture in Westchester, and after countless hours swinging hammers on job sites run by his relatives in development, Kurt pursued a master’s degree in real estate finance at NYU. “I have a thorough understanding of all things real estate and finance.” Add to that a strong comfort level with renovation projects, timelines, and costs (he’s GC’d a couple of full-house guts), and it’s no surprise that Kurt has found his home in Westchester real estate over the past 8 years.
A professional to the core, Kurt knows that buying or selling a home is one of the most exciting and emotional transactions his clients will ever face, and he guides them through it from start to finish with patience, time-honed knowledge and skill, and a calm confidence that’s contagious. He has a solid network of attorneys, mortgage lenders, and trades people that he can call upon to bring an added layer of ease to the process, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s likeable and easy to be around either. His clients call him “absolutely essential” and “incredibly insightful, responsive, trustworthy, and resourceful,” and they return to him again and again, refusing to team up with anyone else.
A proud and happy dad to two young kids, Kurt sneaks in some golf and tennis, and also volunteers with the National Hemophilia Foundation and the American Cancer Society. And, for as long as he can remember, real estate has been one of his life’s passions. “I love what a home means to people and to a community, and I feel like I’m providing an important and meaningful service.” And the fact that he’s doing what he loves from his home base in Pelham, where his roots have always been planted, proves that some people are just born to do what they do.
